June, 2000. - Servicing Tour
NARROMINE TOUR REPORT
Railmotors No. 1 and No. 7 departed Paterson as Empty Cars and proceeded to Dubbo on Friday night 2nd June, 2000, where passengers for Narromine joined the train. The tour was well patronised for each leg of the journey :-
Dubbo to Narromine
Narromine to Trangie
Trangie to Narromine
Narromine to Dubbo
Shuttle services were provided from Narromine to Trangie. The weekend was enjoyed by all concerned, both passengers and crew.
Special tickets were printed for this tour and as every ticket was sold a return trip is being negotiated with the organisors for next year.
The Railmotors returned Empty Cars from Dubbo to Paterson and both CPH's experienced good running to arrive back at Paterson early on Sunday night the 4th June, 2000.
SERVICING PIT - Progress
The servicing pit has now been completed with only rails to layed. Problems encountered were that the area had been filled with large boulders when the Paterson yard was constructed, this in turn caused the excavation to be larger than required, also the water table is close to the surface causing the hole to fill whenever it rains. The contractor completed the formwork and cementing in April.
